Policy
As Is Product Condition
All components, modules, and kits are sold AS IS. While we strive to source high-quality parts, microelectronics are inherently delicate. We do not provide any warranties, express or implied, regarding the merchantability or fitness of a product for a specific experimental purpose once it has been removed from its original packaging.
Limitation of Liability
By purchasing from CanadaSilicon, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Post-Purchase Use: The company assumes no liability for how products are used, handled, or integrated after they leave our hands.
- Damage & Injury: We are not responsible for any property damage, personal injury, or loss of data resulting from the use, misuse, or failure of our products. This includes, but is not limited to, smoke, shorts or fires.
- Third-Party Components: We are not liable for damage caused to your existing equipment (computers, breadboards, etc.) when connected to our products.
Technical Competence
Microelectronics require a baseline of technical knowledge. It is the buyer's responsibility to:
- Verify voltage levels and pinouts before applying power.
- Practice proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety.
- Ensure all soldering is performed safely and correctly.
No Returns on Modified Goods
We cannot accept returns on items that have been soldered, programmed, or physically modified. If a component arrives defective (DOA), please contact us within 30 days of receipt.
Returns and Defective Products
We maintain a strict return policy. Please note the following:
- Defect-Only Policy: Returns are accepted only for products that are defective or Dead on Arrival (DOA). We do not accept returns for change-of-mind, project cancellations, or user-induced damage (e.g., incorrect wiring, over-voltage, or poor soldering).
- Company Discretion: The resolution of a return claim is at the sole discretion of CanadaSilicon. Upon reviewing your claim, we may choose to:
- Issue a full or partial refund.
- Require the defective item be shipped back to us at the buyer's expense before a replacement is sent.
- Ship a replacement product without requiring a return of the original item.
- Reporting Window: Any claims for defective items must be made within [e.g., 7 days] of delivery. Proof of the defect (such as photos of your wiring or a video of the component failing to respond) may be required to process your request.
